Once you have begun a sentence, the whole course of your life is laid out before you.

I just read this sentence and I thought - I was going to write about the significance of farts but this sounds so much loftier.  Aren't blogs supposed to be based on one's inner most thoughts.  Things that will make others think as well.  If that's true - my title says it all.  What will I use for my sentence?
Sentence is such an interesting word.  It's apparently an important part of our language.  It is the cement that holds our experiences together.  We create sentences to explain our adventures; good or bad.  We are sentenced to death.  We get a life sentence.  That's when a sentence is a judicial decree.  I just read that the archaic definition of sentence is a saying or a maxim.
In school we were made to diagram sentences.  We had to determine the verb, the noun, the adverb etc.  Everything had a place and it became an almost architectural design once we put all the words in their appropriate places.
I cannot believe what I just found!  An automatic sentence diagrammer.  I kid you not.  I just wrote "The hyperactive dog jumped over the mossy fence and fell into the lake that was hidden by the mossy fence."  The result looks like a Google map of the city.  It's so amazing.  Think of what life would have been like when we were young (those of us who are over sixty) if we had this tool.
It's called the Reed-Kellogg Sentence Diagrammer:  http://1aiway.com/

Which brings me to a sad realization.  I don't dislike the internet.  I don't dislike calculators or computers.  I don't dislike dishwashing machines or microwave ovens.  BUT these devices will forever change humanity.  Soon children will not be taught penmanship in the way of the past.  I have read college applications with the most awful handwriting and yet these are from  4.0 kids.  Our ability to spell is being challenged because of our reliance on spell check.  Few young people can do simple math processes in their head.  Yet I just read an article that our IQ's are increasing.  We are multi tasking.  Is it all good?  I don't know and I don't think I will live long enough to really find out. That's probably a good thing.
